Junior Rosero, standout forward for the New York Renegades in the UPSL, made a major impact at this year’s edition of The Soccer Tournament (TST), a high-stakes, million-dollar prize competition held annually in Cary, North Carolina.
Representing Premier League side AFC Bournemouth’s TST team, Rosero lit up the group stage by scoring four goals—earning the distinction of top scorer during that phase of the tournament. He also tied the all-time TST record for most goals scored in a single game, showcasing his finishing ability that he has already shown in the UPSL for the last few seasons.

With four International Academy teams currently competing in the UPSL, Villarreal CF is continuing to build a strong presence in the U.S. soccer landscape, bridging the gap between grassroots and the pro level. The initiative is part of the club’s long-term vision to expand its global footprint and tap into North America’s growing talent pool.
The club currently operates Villarreal CF Las Vegas, Villarreal CF Virginia, Villarreal North Texas (including Villarreal North Texas Women’s), and Villarreal Force Academy in North Carolina. These teams are long-time clubs embedded in their local communities but have all since aligned with Villarreal CF’s philosophy and player development model. Competing in the UPSL allows each club’s top players to experience a high level of competition in a semi-professional environment while receiving direct support, opportunities and resources from the La Liga club.

Alexandria Reds player Parker Byas has taken a significant leap in his career by joining the Sevilla FC Academy. The Baltimore, Maryland-born winger is now set to play with the Sevilla FC D team.
Before making the move overseas, Byas competed in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Premier Division in the DMV South Conference, in 2023 and 2024.

Andrew Rick’s journey from the UPSL Premier Division to Major League Soccer has been nothing short of remarkable. In 2022, he was guarding the net for Philadelphia Union III in the Northeast American South conference.
Fast forward to 2025, and the 19-year-old homegrown talent has stepped up as the Union’s starting goalkeeper, filling in for the injured Andre Blake.
