Austin FC and UPSL Academy Host UPSL Talent Showcase in Texas

April 3rd, 2026

The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) continues to strengthen its player development pathway through a growing collaboration with Austin FC, one of Major League Soccer’s top organizations. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to identifying and developing top talent in Texas, building on a history that includes Austin FC Academy previously competing in the UPSL Premier Division.

Held this past weekend at Parmer Stadium in Austin, Texas, the UPSL Talent ID Event brought together players from 10 UPSL Academy clubs, competing in 17 matches across multiple age groups from U13 to U17. The event showcased a high level of competition and provided a platform for young athletes to perform in a professional evaluation environment.

Austin FC Scout Josh Reyes was in attendance throughout the event, actively evaluating players across all matches and age groups.

“Being part of the UPSL ID Event hosted here in Austin was an amazing experience. Seeing so much talent and passion firsthand reminded me why I love this game. Opportunities like this let me connect with local players, learn their stories, and help guide them toward the next level and perhaps achieve something more.”

This type of direct scouting environment reinforces the UPSL’s proven pathway, which has already helped players like current Austin FC first-team player Micah Burton make the jump to the professional level.
